Аннотация: The category $\mathcal{G}$ of all left modules over all rings is studied. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a preradical functor on $\mathcal{G}$ to be radical are given. Radical functors on essential subcategories of $\mathcal{G}$ are investigated.
