Аннотация: Ytterbium(II) and ytterbium(III) halides react with disodium or dipotassium tetraphenylethenide to form the complex dianion [Yb(Ph₂CCPh₂)₂]^2–, which demonstrates bis-η³-coordination of the tetraphenylethylene dianions to the Yb²⁺ cation in a solid state.
