All-Russian conference "Mathematical problems of continuum mechanics", dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the birth of academician L.V. Ovsyannikova (May 13–17, 2024, Novosibirsk)
2024 marks the 105th anniversary of the birth of Lev Vasilievich Ovsyannikov (04/22/1919 – 05/23/2014), an outstanding Russian scientist in the field of mechanics and mathematics. Results L.V. Ovsyannikov in gas dynamics, the theory of fluid motion with free boundaries, in the field of mathematical substantiation of models of continuum mechanics became classic and served as the beginning of new scientific directions. The methods of group analysis of differential equations developed by him are widely used in various fields of mathematics, mechanics and theoretical physics. Ovsyannikov's scientific school is widely known in world science.
The scientific topic of the conference involves discussion of current problems of applied mathematics, mechanics and methods of mathematical modeling, as well as their applications for describing and predicting natural and technical processes.
Plenary and oral presentations are planned, as well as short oral presentations followed by discussion at a poster session.
