Exact out-of-equilibrium dynamics of localized quantum perturbations

Vasilii Pushkarev

Abstract: Global and local quench are one of the two main examples of exactly solvable quantum nonequilibrium dynamics. Local quench is a process in which the translational invariance of the system is created, which is violated by the creation of a localized perturbation. The study of this process is interesting in areas of physics, where quantum dynamics generated by localized quantum perturbation can be present - physics of condensed matter, physics of space, high energy physics and string theory. Prior to this, explicit examples of analytic dynamics were constructed mainly in theories with conformal symmetries. In this talk, we construct a general mechanism for calculating the dynamics of such perturbations, and also construct the first known analytical answers to dynamics in a non-conformal theory, namely, in a massive free field theory.
