Recent applications of complex analysis to the theory of minimal surfaces

Franc Forstnerič

Abstract: In this lecture I will describe some recent application of complex analytic methods to the classical theory of minimal surfaces in Euclidean spaces. In particular, I shall discuss a Mergelyan type approximation theorem, existence of properly immersed and embedded minimal surfaces, and the construction of metrically complete minimal surfaces bounded by Jordan curves.
