Professor D.A. Gudkov (1918 - 1992) - an outstanding mathematician and researcher of the biography of N.I. Lobachevsky (on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth)

A story about the life and work of the remarkable mathematician Dmitry Andreevich Gudkov from Nizhny Novgorod. Gudkov is known for his fundamental results on the first part of the 16th problem of Hilbert and on the disclosure of the enigmas of the Nizhny Novgorod period of the biography of N.I. Lobachevsky. It will also be told about Gudkov's role in the development of mathematics at the University of Nizhny Novgorod and his fruitful contacts with Leningrad mathematicians.
