The history of statistical methods in Philology: Bunyakovsky, Markov Sr. and Kolmogorov

Abstract: The lecture will present scientific biographies and research results in the field of statistical methods in Philology of three academic mathematicians: Viktor Yakovlevich Bunyakovsky ("Lexicon of pure and applied mathematics. St. Petersburg, 1839"), Andrei Andreevich Markov (Markov chain model) and Andrei Nikolaevich Kolmogorov (research in linguistics, classification and statistics of rhythmic variations of the meter).
