Abstract: A new mathematical model of plasma transfer in a spiral magnetic field, based on a stationary plasma transfer equation in an axially symmetric formulation, is presented. In the reference frame of a rotating plasma, magnetic disturbances have a velocity component co-directional with the magnetic field, allowing momentum to be transferred to trapped particles. These collisions between flying and trapped particles create an effective force on the plasma, contributing to the return of ions to the confinement area. In the region of the transverse cross-section of the central portion of the device, the stationary plasma transport equation is solved numerically. Computational experiments show that as the derivative of the electric field strength and the depth of corrugation increase, a pinching effect (reduction in the average radius of the plasma plume) is observed, as seen in the experiment. The results obtained correspond to the experimental data.
