On the history of scientific Arabic studies in Russia: the study history of Middle Ages Arabic mathematical manuscripts in Russia

Abstract: We shall talk about the study history of Middle Ages Arabic mathematical manuscripts (scientific Arabic studies) in Russia. Our focus will be the creation history of Soviet historical and mathematical school history in the middle of the last century. The significant contribution of famous Russian historians of mathematics in Russia is shown, such as A.P. Yushkevich (the founder of the school), B.A. Rosenfeld, G.P. Matviyevskaya and M.M. Rozhanskaya, who translated from Arabic into Russian and studied dozens of manuscripts on Arabic mathematics. They left fundamental works on the history of Arabic Middle Ages mathematics and astronomy. The speaker will talk about his scientific research on the history of Arabic mathematics in Morocco and Andalusia in the Middle Ages, as well as about his two latest monographs on the history of scientific Arabic studies in Russia, and on the history of mathematics, in particular Arabic.
