Deformations of Fano varieties

This talk is based on papers of T. Dorsch, J. Kollar and Y.-M. Hwang. We will show that smooth global deformations of quartic double solids, intersections of two quadrics in $\mathbb P^5$ and quadrics of arbitrary dimension are Fano varieties of the same type.
