Knots and quantum field theory

This talk will discuss how knot invariants are related to Witten's functional integral and in particular how Vassiliev invariants are related to Witten's approach to knots and quantum field theory. We will show that the Kontsevich integrals arise as Feynman integrals in the perturbative expansion of Wittern's integral.
