Linear Systems

A boundary improvement problem for linearly controlled processes

Abstract: We construct a special differential-algebraic boundary problem for nonlocal control improvement in systems linear with respect to the control. Based on the improvement boundary problem, we formulate a new necessary optimality condition that strengthens the maximum principle. For controls satisfying the maximum principle, we give examples of strict improvement with the proposed boundary problem.
