A Markov algorithm for writing a database on a magnetic disk with movable heads

The writing of data blocks on a magnetic disk with movable heads can be optimized by using a discrete Markov chain as a uniform mathematical model which would deseribe the writing and accessing the data blocks. The goal of optimization is a minimal mean path of leads in data processing. An algorithm for this pupose is proposed and the results of its application considered.
