Abstract:
Motion of the railway wheel pair along a rectilinear segment of track was considered within the Carter model of wheel-rail interaction with regard for the nonlinear part of the creep forces. The linear parts of these forces were modified by the integral Volterra operator characterizing the visco-elastic characteristics of the material. Stability of motion of the wheel pair with zero conicity was studied using the integro-differential equations.
