A stochastic problem optimal control for a cascade of water reservoirs

Optimal control of a cascade of water reservoirs is discussed for the case when an accurate forecast of the inflow is out of the question (a stochastic problem). Relations of this problem with a deterministic one are studied. Criterial for possible replacement of a solution to the former by a solution to the latter are given.
