A matrix algorithm for design of optimal linear system with specified properties

The paper is concerned with minimization of a quadratic performance criterion with due regard for the location of the system spectrum in a specified field. A wellknown matrix algorithm for design of suboptimal control is extended to a wide class of regions by solving a certain generalized Lyapunov equation.
