Optimization of a calendar schedule of activities involving a short stoppage of facilities in continuous processes

The paper is concerned with the possibility of scheduling an optimal schedule of jobs in a continuous technological system. Because of links between the system facilities the activities which require short stoppages can be performed at the same time. For these combined activities of which some are needed for expansion of the system and some for maintenance, a quantitative criterion for schedule optimization is introduced. This allows for constraints introduced by temporary reduction in4he system output.
