Abstract:
The paper discusses the dependence of the mean performance criterion on the control mean. This is not an unambiguous characteristic because the fixed mean control is associated with a set of mean criterion values from a range. The upper bound of the characteristic is upward convex and the lower bound, downward convex; in the extreme points of the set of feasible controls these boundaries coincide with one another and with the plant static response. A class of plants is specified for which the computation of boundaries for the characteristic of steady state modes can be significantly simplified.
