Abstract:
The article is concerned with correction of errors that are characteristic of semiconducting memory units of a large size, error bytes of length 4 and double independent errors. A structure of the checking matrix and an algorithm for decoding a binary Bose — Chaudhuri — Hocquenjhem code with distance 6 whereby both kinds of errors are corrected. Techniques are described for design of a checking matrix which can be easily implemented in large-scale integration circuits. The detecting ability of the algorithm is estimated. A decoder block-diagram is provided.
