Consistency of the data base and input flow of information

An approach is proposed to the consistency of the data base (DB) whereby the DB is viewed as a result of inputting a sequence of documents. In the framework of this approach some problems of DB updating are investigated. Relationships with conventional (normal forms, integrity constraint, universal and representative relation) approaches are considered. The approach provides an update technology similar to one for the input and a possibility of inclusion in a data base management system of a standard program for update side by side with a standard program for input.
