Modal control of the shape of structures distributed in space

In the operator notation a mathematical description is given of spatially distributed elastic structures with dampening whose form is to be controlled. The control allows for the potential of realization with a finite number of control signals and measuring facilities. Side-effects of control and observation are analyzed. The control feedbacks ensure coincidence of the desired and actual shapes with a specified dampening factor. Advice is given on the choice of control and measuring facilities and their positioning on the object.
