Combined gradient algorithms for minimization of ravine functions for problems of control and identification

Abstract: Effective gradient algorithms for minimization of ravine function can be obtained that feature a higher rate of convergence than the basic algorithms do, this result being achieved without significant complication of the program. The effectiveness of a combined method operating by the Davidon–Fletcher–Powell algorithm is confirmed through numerical experimentation.
