Analytical models of link control procedures in packet switching computer network

The paper is concerned with a general model of data transmission along a duplex line between adjacent nodes. A number of line protocols are studied and explicit expressions are obtained for the performance criterion. The problem is solved of optimizing the structure of line protocols and the effect of their parameters on traffic characteristics is estimated.
