Use of matrix tools and graph theory in analysis and transformations of a data processing system

The paper is concerned with matrix representation of a data processing system and the system properties and transformations with a view to simplification are considered. For effective computation the matrix is divided into cells in agreement with ordering of the system. Methods are given for analysis with the aid of matrices, of system properties such as orderiliness, presence of cycles, connectivity, parallelism, and sequence of paths in the system graph.
