R. м. s. error in approximation of random processes by digital stepwise functions

Formulae are derived which relate the r.m.s. approximation error, the time quantifying interval and quantifying level step in approximation of random processes by digital stepwise functions. The problem of optimizing the quantifying level is solved with minimal r.m.s. approximation error as the criterion.
