Abstract: The sensitivity of the output sequence of a digital filter due to small variations of digital filter parameters is defined and the corresponding sensitivity functions are introduced. The presented computer-aided technique enables all sensitivity functions to be obtained simultaneously during either online operation of the special-purpose hardware realizing a given digital filter or during a simulation run when a digital filter is simulated on a minicomputer or on a general-purpose digital machine. An example illustrating the technique is included.
