Statistical Estimation of Actual Automation Cost-Effectiveness

The paper is concerned with statistical aspects of obtaining the initial-data for computation of the actual control systems in contiual processes. Formulae are given for determination of the experiment length necessary to insure estimation of the actual cost-effectiveness with a desired relative accuracy. The accuracy and sensitivity of the formulae to errors in the a priori data are tested by statistional computer simulation.
