On computing the characteristics of a bulk service system with a finite buffer and operating in a random environment

Expressions are obtained for stationary probabilities which are used to determine the characteristics of a bulk service system operating in a random environment such as mean queue lenght, throughput, and probability of failure to service. Various particular case of system operation are discussed.
