On reasonable function allocation in a hierarchic control system of a vehicle

The paper is concerned with chief problems in designing the structure of vehicle control systems. Methods are described for optimizing a typical control subsystem and a set of interrelated subsystems with due regard for various techno-economic characteristics in control system design and functioning. An algorithm for choice of an optimal structure for the typical control subsystem and an example of computation by that algorithm are described.
