Abstract: Preliminary data on the sintering of the powder compounds with modifying additives are presented in this work. It was found that consolidation process of powders at the chosen conditions is not accompanied by changes in the phase composition. The observed decrease in the resistivity of compacts promotes to the sintering. The mathematical model of pulsed electric-sintered of carbide powder composition is proposed. The model is based on the analogy between the mechanical behavior of powder medium and viscous liquid. It takes into account the evolution of porosity during sintering. To describe the dynamics of structural changes the kinetic equation is used for the structural parameter. The result of numerical realization of the model consists of the distribution of temperature, density of compact, the flow velocity of viscous medium and the change in thickness of the sample during sintering.

Keywords: šowder compounds, pulsed electric contact sintering, mathematical modeling, porosity change.
