Abstract: The construction of the Large Solar Furnace in Uzbekistan made it possible to obtain materials with unique properties that are difficult or impossible to obtain in another way. In particular, ceramic materials have been developed that convert the energy of the primary source into pulsed infrared radiation with a controlled rise time of the pulse. At the same time, the slope of the rising edge of the pulse can be viewed as part of a sinusoid. Radiation appears, as it were, with a pseudo-wavelength. Our long-term research has shown that this wavelength can work as the main one. However, the effect of dualism is also manifested here. The carrier energy corresponds to the fundamental wavelength in the IR range, and the slope of the rising edge of the pulse affects only the selected processes. One of such applications of these materials is the creation of sterilizers that can perform deep, efficient and high-quality sterilization of various objects. This article is devoted to this very aspect of the application of functional ceramics synthesized under the action of concentrated solar radiation.

Keywords: Sterilization, viruses, bacterial spores, functional ceramics, pulsed radiation, medical instruments, hospital waste.
