Abstract: We propose a new method of shaping nondiffracting hollow optical beams (HOB's), the intensity distribution of the cross-section of which have the shape of the simple geometrical figures. This method is based on interference of two coaxial Bessel beams. These beams can be used as optical traps for controlled manipulation of non-spherical microobjects.

Keywords: nondiffracting optical beams, Bessel beams, interference of Bessel beams, hollow optical beams, optical wavefront dislocations.
