Abstract: A mathematical model for solid-state chemical transformation under uniaxial mechanical loading is proposed which takes into account the coupling of strain and temperature fields and the dependence of the chemical reaction rate on the strain work. A parametric investigation of the model is performed. It is shown that the stresses and strains occurring during the transformation significantly impact the process dynamics.

Keywords: numerical simulation, solid-state reaction, loading, stress, strain.
