Abstract:
The macromorphology and micromorphology of the combustion products of a Fe$_2$O$_3$–TiO$_2$–Al powder mixture burning in the regime of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis were studied. Significant differences were found in the structure of the products with variation in the ratio of the mixture components. A mechanism for shape and phase formation was proposed that allows the observed differences to be explained from unified positions.
