Abstract:
A family of shock adiabats for an elementary solid is considered for different initial thermodynamic states of the solid. In this family, each shock adiabat is calculated using a known reference shock adiabat for the same monolithic material under specified initial conditions. Initial states for monolithic and porous materials with different temperatures are considered. Heating is shown to change the shock adiabat of a solid by $\approx$0.01%/K.
