Abstract:
This paper studies the effect of aluminum particle size on the acceleration ability and heat of explosive decomposition of aluminized compositions containing HMX, nitroguanidine, and bis (2,2,2-trinitroethyl) nitramine. The addition of Al increases the acceleration ability of the HEs. The replacement of Al with micron-size particles by an ultrafine powder with a particle size of 0.1 $\mu$m does not lead to an additional increase in the acceleration ability. The effect of Al on the heat of explosive decomposition of the examined compositions is investigated.
