Abstract:
This paper reports results from experimental studies of acoustic waves with amplitudes of 1–100 Pa from bulk blasts in opencasts. The wave shape, amplitude, duration, and pulse, and their dependences on the mass of the explosive at epicentral distances of 1–10 km are obtained. It is shown that the vibration amplitudes excited by acoustic waves acting on the frontage of multi-storey buildings are several times larger than those produced by seismic waves.
Keywords:acoustic wave, wave amplitude, velocigram of building vibrations.
