Abstract: An x-ray diffraction study was performed of layers produced on titanium targets by a shaped-charge explosion. Mixtures of fine powders of graphite and ammonium nitrate in different proportions were used as liners. The phase compositions of the central and peripheral zones of the target were shown to be different. The unit-cell parameters of the detected crystalline phases and sample microhardness were measured.

Keywords: shaped-charge explosion, coating, titanium, carbon, x-ray phase analysis, microhardness.
