Abstract: A mathematical model of combustion of intumescent fire–protective materials is presented, which takes into account the basis physicochemical processes during combustion of such materials. The model employs the minimum number of empirical constants determined under conditions close to simulated ones. The results of numerical analysis are in good agreement with the experimental values of temperatures at the boundary between the intumescent material and the protected construction.
