Abstract: A mathematical model of autowave propagation of solid-state low-temperature chlorination of butyl chloride is proposed. The model is of a coupled character and includes nonlinear equations of thermal conductivity and chemical kinetics and a balance equation for defectiveness of the medium with corresponding boundary conditions. The eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the problem are found by a numerical method. The inverse problem is solved, and possible magnitudes of the heat effects of the chemical reactions and fracture are determined. The calculation results are in qualitative agreement with the experimental data.
