Abstract:
We analyze the laws governing the variation in chemical reaction rates in a reacting H$_2$ + O$_2$ gas mixture with preliminarily excited vibrational degrees of freedom of H$_2$ or O$_2$ molecules. It is shown that with participation of vibrationally excited H$_2$ and O$_2$ molecules in the combustion process, a substantial decrease in the induction period and combustion time is possible.
