Ignition of a nonstoichiometric composition gas mixture by means of a spark discharge with a spatially-temporal energy release

Abstract: A model is proposed for the spark ignition of gas mixtures having nonstoichiometric compositions. The model takes into account the structure and dynamics of the discharge energy release. A region of discharge parameter values is determined for which the applicability of the instantaneously localized energy source is well founded. Critical ignition conditions are investigated for a variation of the initial composition.
