Shear modulus and internal friction hystereses during structural relaxation of metallic glasses based on Pd and Zr in the vicinity of the glass transition range
Abstract:
Cooling of metallic glasses based on Pd and Zr from the supercooled liquid state with a low rate causes significant shear modulus and internal friction hystereses, which indicates a long relaxation time in the vicinity of the glass transition range. The nature of the observed phenomenon has been discussed within the interstitialcy theory.
