Abstract:
The problem of the development of rules for a hydroelectric power station reservoir management is considered. The task consists in the development of the dependence of the control, namely the water release through the dam, upon the state of the system, for which the level of the reservoir is used. In the paper, the multi-objective optimization technique for supporting the decision-making is proposed, in the framework of which several criteria of management quality are considered. These criteria describe interests of various water users and water consumers. The model of the system allows computing the result of various feasible variants of control rules, but it does not allow the analytical research. The technique is based on approximation of the Edgeworth–Pareto Hull for the multi-objective task under consideration and on the subsequent interactive visualization of the Pareto frontier. The methods using parallel computing are applied for approximating the Edgeworth–Pareto Hull.
