Non-Stationary Technique for Calculation of the Multigroup Two-Dimensional Transport Equations on Grids, Formed by the Arbitrary Quadrangles

A. V. Voronkov, E. P. Sychugova

Abstract: The numerical method is developed for solving the multigroup non-stationary transport equation in two-dimensional axial geometry on regular grids formed by arbitrary convex quadrangles. The integral-interpolation method is used for deriving the finite-difference system of equations. The additional equations are obtained on the base of the analysis of 'illumination' of each calculated cell. For solving the system of non-stationary equations the semi-explicit method is used. The authors developed this method earlier for solving the non-stationary transport equation on rectangular grids. The special analytical benchmarks are used for testing this technique. The obtained numerical results have demonstrated high efficiency of the suggested method.
