Shading Zones and their Application in Static Scene Visualization Problem

Abstract: The problem of static scene visualization composed of geometrical polygonal objects is considered. Shading zones notion is introduced for a pair of objects which makes it possible to decrease problem time solution in the case when scene projections for many view directions should be built up. Basic statements concerning shading zones of two objects are formulated and proved. An algorithm for their construction is described. Considerations are restricted by 2D-space case and parallel projection used.
