The Test Model for the Coupling-Technique Application to Radiation Transport Problems Solution in Three-Dimensional Systems

Abstract:
The three dimensional benchmark problem of fast reactor (BN-600 type) with circular pump and results of it calculations is described. It is the necessary for test problem calculations of the activations of the circular pump parts. This calculation had to be made by coupling-technique (combined) method. The original three dimensional system has to be splitted on two two-dimensional auxiliary subsys-tems. The first one is described the reactor and shielding without pump and will be used for calculating of the surface boundary sources for second subsystem. The second subsystem for the activation calculation is the symmetrical model of the pump with the buffer zone. The results of the three-dimensional calculation of a Monte Carlo Method and coupling-technique method are presented. MMKFK code was used for calculations by Monte Carlo Method. TWODANT and RADUGA are two dimensional discrete ordinate codes were used for coupling-technique method calculations.
