Stability Criterion for Two-Dimensional Difference Scheme

A stability criterion for two-layer difference scheme with variable weight multipliers for two-dimensional heat-conduction equation is developed. Two examples space distribution of weight multipliers are considered - chess distribution and distribution in form of alternating stripes. For these cases necessary and sufficient conditions of stability are obtained.
