Abstract: The method of the influence functions and the spatial- frequency characteristics was applied to the solution of the first boundary-value radiation transfer problem in a plane layer with a 'vacuum' boundary conditions. Optical transfer operators were formulated for remote sensing of the characteristics of different insolation sources. Basic models of the influence functions and the spatial-frequency characteristics were separated.
