Self-consistent Hydrogen-like Average Atom Model for the Matter with Given Temperature and Density

A. F. Nikiforov, V. G. Novikov, A. D. Solomyannaya

Abstract: A self-consistent hydrogen-like average atom model is proposed. The hydrogen-like wave functions are used for the bound electron states. The model enables rather easily to calculate characteristics of plasma at given temperature and density for any mixture of elements. The equation of state and opacities for aluminum and gold are calculated in a wide range of temperatures and densities.
